The perimeter of the new 395 inmate prison on the island of St Vincent, constructed on behalf of the Ministry of National Security, the Public Service, Seaport and Airport Development for St Vincent and the Grenadines, is now protected by a bespoke Jacksons welded mesh fencing system.
The hot dip galvanized lattice posts, which are a distinctive feature of this installation, were designed to provide the strength and structural integrity needed to withstand high wind loadings of up to 251km/h (156 mph), while the rest of the project comprised 1,900m of Securi-Mesh fencing at 5.2m high and ‘Y’ shaped post top extensions to carry concertina barbed tape. . The Saint Vincent project is the second major export achievement for Jacksons involving new prisons.
